A Heel
I'm just past the heel turn on my first Mermaid sock. I just love this colorway, but it's so busy I'm glad that I kept the stitches simple.
Hand dyed multicolored yarns are fun to buy, but it took me a long time to figure out how to use them. They have a tendency to look better in the skein than they do in a project. I don't worry about it too much in socks but I tend to avoid them in sweaters. Until this year. Apparently this year is my year of the variegated sweater. I can't explain it, I just keep knitting them this year.

I LOVE that sock colorway. Know what you mean about variegated usage but I have two favorite projects to make busy yarn turn lovely: Hitchhiker (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hitchhiker) and Reyna (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/reyna). I am tempted by some of the sweaters you have made recently too, but I have unfinshed sweater objects staring at me, so. (Don't know how to make links, sorry)
