My Tape Measure Collection

I didn't mean to start a collection. It started out innocently enough with the little sheep tape measure that probably 90% of all knitters own. (Did you know there's a black one? They're very rare and hard to find, but Ohhhh, they're cute!) Then I stumbled across the Tiger one, found the Cow, and the Pig (that little tail likes to get tangled up in knitting) - kind of had a barnyard theme going for a bit. Then I found the Car - I had to get that one, I mean with Caleb, how could I not get it. My latest additions are the Lady Bug and the Colored Lines. Both of those have cat magnets for the tape pulls. So, next thing I know, I seem to have a collection. At least its a useful collection! (I know there is a clown/Pinnochio tape measure out there and you pull his nose, but clowns creep me out, so I've left that one in the store.)

On a completely unrelated note, why does Blogger's spell check always want to substitute "janitor's" for "knitters?" Do they have any idea what that would do to my blog? One of these days, I'll have to do two blog entries, mine and Blogger's after the spell check - its really pretty funny what they try to change.

I have the tiger and a black sheep. I am told only one black sheep comes with a bag of white sheep. Most yarn shops have a list a mile long of those requesting a black sheep. I guess it pays to be friends with the owner!! lol I have seen a chicken with an egg pull. There was only one and another person had it in hand. Sigh! Maybe another will pop up soon.

Most knitters have a collection of tape measures, but I think the miracle is that you know where all of yours are! The reason I have several is cuz I can never find one when I need it.

I love the piggy one! I used to have a thing for piglets.

You can get a fakie black sheep from Joann's, I know it's not the same, but that's okay, cuz i'd probably lose it anyway ;)

I lovelovelove the car one! Too cute. I have handfuls (and basketfuls) of tape measures, too. If only they would be in a sane and expected location like a basket. Ha!

I'll try to keep a lookout for another black sheep one for you. (I have it.)

I am ever on the prowl for bunny-related tape measures and I know there is one in which the pull is a carrot and the container is the rabbit face. My SP8 Spoiler gave me a pink one similar to you green ladybug one -- I have a bright pink "koosh" at the end of it. Thanks for sharing!

I adore your collection! I'm actually one of the few knitters without one of those sheepie tape measures. I'll have to rectify that one of these days.

cute tape measures... the ones I like have inches on one side and cms on the other one LOL.

What I was wondering was... how did you manage to take that pic without doggy or kitty interference???

Cheers Eva

Those tape measures are so cute! I've never seen stuff like that here in Germany. Our tape measures are just plain and boring :(
I really wish I had one of those sheep!
