MYSTERY STOLE 3! Let the madness begin!

I know you've been waiting for it and it's finally time! Mystery Stole 3 is now open. This year's design is all new and you won't want to miss out! The first clue will go out on June 29 and just like last year, the group will close to new members on July 6. A clue will be posted every Friday, except for the Friday after the Harry Potter book launch. I'll be giving you a bigger than usual clue on Friday, July 20 and then two weeks between clues so you can juggle your knitting time with your reading time as you need to. At this point I don't know how many weeks it will be, but I'll update the group with that information as soon as I can and definitely before the first clue is released.

This year there is a bead option (to bead or not to bead, that is the question...) and there will be giveaways! The first drawing will be on Monday, June 11 and everyone who has signed up for the group will be eligible! I will be giving away yarn and beads for two Mystery Stole 3's - one in white and one in black. You have to sign up for the group to be entered in the drawing! There will be other giveaways later in the knitalong, so if you miss this first one, you could still win something!

OK, so now you have the details (or at least the details so far) so CLICK HERE and join the Mystery Stole 3 Yahoo Group!

After "molto" agony getting through Yahoo, I think I am signed up for the shawl #3. I hope anyway. We changed to DSL and lost our disk and everything is screwed to the max. Remember in "The Right Stuff" the line about screwing the pooch? Well, that's what it's been like here since we got AT&T DSL I've lost all my groups and all my e-mail addresses. What a drag! Hope this went through because I'm eager. I also hope it won't be circular because I'm no good at the circle start! Sorry. Your designs are great.

Melanie, I can't wait! *rubs hands together with glee* You're so generous to do this every year - and the results are always spectacular! Mmmmmm, more of my favourite Zephyr - and beads! I've never done beaded knitting. The crochet method sounds much less intimidating. Thanks again!

Mel,
Quick question! I went special notices on the yahoo group. It's just crazy with all the people. Here is my question.

You will announce that you have posted the pattern clue in special notices won't you?

I just can't keep up with all the chit chat.

Alright, I'll sign up.

I never would have thought twice about it without Stephanie mentioning it on her blog.

I missed it, too--and I have LOTS of lace weight just begging to be knit! I'd never heard of this 'til I caught up with the Yarnharlot site on Sunday. I'll try to remember next year--and try to not pout when reading this year about how much fun everyone is having!

I'm feeling a little sad about this... MS 3 was introduced to me by the Yarn Harlot, and Darn Her! I kept thinking about it...then I find out that everyone I know is in on it too... I went to sign up today and found out that registration closed Friday. Ugh! Serves me right for trying to be strong against the need to knit lace!

Please tell me how to unsubscribe to the MS3 project. I just don't have time or space for all those emails, etc. Nice project, but too many right now to do this justice.

Thank you.

I am sad too. I missed and would have loved to knit it especially in chunks at a time.

I have already seen the start on flickr and it looks wonderful.

Those of you knitting MS3 keep showing off to those of us who missed it this time. It will remind us to join in next year (or perhaps later this year?)

Hey, I didn't find out about this until after signups closed. Is it against the rules for me to get the clues from someone else? Will the pattern in its entirety be posted after all the clues are out? I'm subscribing to you so I don't miss MS4!!

Noticed the Mystery Shawl on Bonne Marie's website, it's so gorgeous! Although you have closed the membership for this project, are you planning on selling the pattern after the group completes it? I would like the opportunity to purchase it.

please help me. I have been trying to join the Mystery Stole 3 for at least two weeks and though I was allowed to join Yahoo Spindlers, Yahoo adamantly refuses to allow me to join the ms3 - though they did let me join the chat list which is even more frustrating. I am desperate, I wanted to do this for a wedding gift for august 26 - my son is getting married (no, it's for his bride to be). Anyway, I am begging, pleading, imploring that someone will help me that is, if it's not too late to try to catch up. Thanks, namaste and shalom, susanna

To Anonymous who is trying to sign up for MS3 in 2008- this was the Mystery Stole for 2007 - the group closed in July of that year to new members and the whole group has been deleted now. MS4 will begin later this summer (2008) - watch the blog for more information.
