Another Finished Pair of Socks

image
I finished my Snow White striping socks last night!  These are knit in Biscotte & Cie’s "Princesse et les 7 mailles" color way.  It’s a plain vanilla, stockinette stitch sock again, because I don’t want anything to distract from the striping.

A funny thing happened this time, that hasn’t ever happened with this brand of sock yarn before - they ended differently.  I cast on at the same point in the repeat for both socks (I take notes when I do the first sock so I can start the second sock the same way).  I always use a round counter when I knit socks (and really, when I knit pretty much anything), to make sure that the two will match.  I know these socks have the same number of rounds in the legs and the same number of rounds in the feet, but you can see at the toe that one sock ended in the blue and the second sock went into the yellow.  I actually noticed the difference as I was approaching the heel turn, but decided to just let the socks happen.  Since I’ll wear the socks inside shoes, I’ll be the only one to know that I have one yellow toe!  (Well, me and anyone who reads this blog and who now knows the secret of these socks.)
