Sometimes I get away from MS3
I've been spending most of my time lately dealing with MS3: emails, knitting it, figuring out the last, uncharted parts. We are now up to 2047 members. We have volunteer translators for English to German, English to Dutch, and English to French (and maybe other languages as well - I haven't gone through all of this mornings email), so that those who don't speak English can participate. Yes, Mystery Stole has gone Multi Lingual! If you haven't joined yet, what are you waiting for? Join the madness here.
Sometimes, when I have read all the emails, and I'm tired of knitting lace (I'm up to what will be Clue 4 now), I sit down at a spinning wheel. This is the first bobbin of singles from the Romney/Merino blend that I did on my drumcarder. It's being spun very slowly, but I find the rhythm very soothing and comforting and non MS3 - ing. It's good to take a break from MS3 occasionally. But now I have 119 emails left to read - gotta run!

Congratulations on your cult following! It is amazing! Mindy
Your spinning looks wonderful Melanie! Congrats on the MS3 popularity!!!
But your spinning is lovely! :-)
Isn't drum carding fun!?
My goodness that MS3 thing certainly is popular! No wonder there isn't any black or white yarn left in the world!
I didn't want to leave another thing for you to read and hold you back from your "duties" for the MS3, but I have to tell you that I love your spinning and the color is great. I never got the hang of it, so I'll just knit it up instead.
Hi Melanie,
your yarn looks great!
I can really understand that you sometimes need a break from MS3 ... you are doing a great job!
Have a nice day!
Kind regards from Germany
Andrea
beautiful yarn! i just wanted to say that i truly appreciate all the hard work you're putting into the MS3. i know it's not easy.
Your spinning looks wonderful!
I am a knitter from MS3 - sorry my englisch is not very good but I have a question - can I find anywhere de patterns of MS1 and Ms2?
Greetings from Switzerland
Wow, the numbers are amazing. This is my 1st stole, so I'm excited. I got my yarn yesterday and the beads the day before. Got black. But I got two packages of black beads ... matte and shiny. I'm trying to decide which would look best in this shawl. Any recommendation? The yarn is Zephyr in Ebony.
Spinning is wonderful for breaking away from that type of thing. I've signed up for MS3 but haven't gotten in on any of the group chatter. My mind would explode and I would probably be unable to knit it when the clues begin. This is quite an adventure you have. Enjoy your spinning time. I don't think I will be able to make 1200 yards laceweight on the drop spindle in time for MS3, so I am doing my spinning for Journey to a Shawl. Besides, I still have to decide on beads for MS3. My yarn is black or ecru, but that is all the further I have decided.
Thanks for showing what "our" yarn will look like! Mother
