Shopping and a Sock

Yesterday we went shopping for Caleb for back to school clothes. I'm one of those moms who tends to buy shirts a bit too big so that Caleb will have some growing room in them. He goes through a size of jeans about every 6 months though (although that seems to be stretching out to a size every 8 months or so now - whew!). Because of this, last year we only had to get him a few shirts and a bunch of new jeans. This year, we are practically starting from scratch though. I was pleasantly surprised that except for his rain coat, he doesn't need any new coats. We did pretty good though yesterday. He's got his shirts, some cargo pants, a backpack and lunchbox, so now we just have to get some jeans and a couple pairs of shoes. He was even a good sport and tried on the clothes at the store.

I did get some knitting done last night though after the big shopping spree:
As you can see, I've finished the leg of the second sock and I got past the heel flap and heel turn and worked a couple of rounds of the gusset. I may actually get these done in time! I'm sure my Sockapalooza Pal is glad to hear that. I guess I need to sit down and figure out what other goodies to put in with her socks, seeing as these are supposed to be mailed next week...

I always love the back to school stuff. I have one more left. Even in high school girls still like finding great folders etc. Is he in to a particular theme for his back pack? My son graduated this year. It goes way too fast so enjoy it all.
